Henry Gilberthorpe (1819) was the son of William Gilberthorpe (1785) and Mary Robinson (1785) and was born in Slade Hooton, and baptised locally in Laughton on 9th May, 1819. He married Elizabeth Westron (1822) from nearby Rossington in 1842, and the couple lived for a brief time in Braithwell, where several of their children were born; Henry (1843, died 1844), Harriet (1842), William (1845), Mary (1848) and George (1851). They then appear to have moved to Ecclesfield where more children were born; Charles (1856), Ann Elizabeth (1859), Henry (another Henry) (1862) and Arthur (1867).
William Gilberthorpe (1845) was born in Braithwell and baptised there on 21st Dec 1845. I was recently pleased to discover a common link here with Susan Hallgate, and am in the process of looking at Susan's detailed history before I write too much more. It appears that William married Sarah Ann Wimpney (1847) and later married again to Harriet Spooner (1852).
George Gilberthorpe (1851) was also born in Braithwell and baptised there. He married Sarah Jane Archer (1855) from Wincobank on 11th Oct 1875 in Thorpe Hesley. They had at least eight children; Walter (1876), George Henry (1878), Herbert (1881), Frank (1885), Albert (1889), Florence (1892), Alice (1898) and Maurice (1899).
Arthur Gilberthorpe (1867) was born in Ecclesfield and married Annie (1867) from Sheffield. They had at least four children; Arthur (1890), Thomas (1894), Edith (1896) and Henry (1898).
